Appendix B.Importing Contacts

The contacts can be created in a csv file to add multiple contacts at once.

To import the contacts, a csv file must exist. This section describes how to create a csv file for different applications.

You can retrieve the contacts in the DaouOffice Contacts also.

Refer to Importing Contacts for more details.

B.1Creating CSV File for Outlook Contacts

You can export the Contacts in Microsoft Outlook to be used by DaouOffice. The Microsoft Outlook Contacts is exported in the following way:

  1. Run Microsoft Outlook.

  2. Click [File > Import/Export] menu.

  3. Select Export – file in the Import/Export Wizard and click Next.

  1. Select Values separated by comma, and click Next.

  1. Select Contacts and click Next

  1. Click Browse to select a file path and click Next.

  1. Click User defined field mapping. The user defined field mapping popup window is displayed.

  1. In the User defined field mapping window, move the fields to be exported from the left box to the right box with drag & drop. To remove an item in field mapping, drag & drop the item from the right box to the left box.

Organize the fields in the right box of the User defined field mapping window in the following order.

The Contacts imported from Microsoft Outlook is mapped as shown below and input into the DaouOffice Contacts.

B.2Creating CSV File for Outlook Express Contacts

You can export the Contacts in Microsoft Outlook Express to be used by DaouOffice. The Microsoft Outlook Express Contacts is exported in the following way:

  1. Run Microsoft Outlook Express.

  2. Click [File > Import/Export] menu.

  3. Select Text File as the exported file format in the Contacts export tool and click Export.

  1. Click Browse to select the file path and click Next

  1. Check the fields to be included in the exported file.

  1. Check the fields in the following order in the Exported field selection window.

The Contacts imported from Microsoft Outlook is mapped as shown below and input into the DaouOffice Contacts.
