C.1Exporting Contacts

You can select the file type when exporting the Contacts in DaouOffice. The file type can be one of following two

A csv file is created to suit the file type (e-mail client type) selected for export. The csv file format for each e-mail client is described below.

Exporting Contacts in Outlook Format

To export the Contacts,

  1. Specify the File type as Outlook.

  2. Specify Encoding to EUC-KR to create a csv file containing the contacts in the following order.

The fields in the csv file are matched with DaouOffice items as shown below.

The fields not in the Contacts format of the selected e-mail client are not exported.

For example, you may have the Anniversary values in the DaouOffice Contacts, but the field will not be output to the csv file if you select Microsoft Outlook as the e-mail client when you export the Contacts.

C.2Retrieving Contacts

A csv file exported by DaouOffice can be imported by Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express.

This section describes how to import the csv file into Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook Express.

Importing Contacts into Outlook

Export the contacts from DaouOffice with the file type set to Outlook.

Refer to Exporting Contacts in Outlook Format for details of export.

  1. Specify the File type to Outlook and export the contacts from the DaouOffice Contacts.

  2. Run Microsoft Outlook.

  3. Click the [File >Import/Export] menu.

  4. Select Import – Another program or file in the Import/Export wizard and click Next.

  1. Select Values separated by comma, and click Next.

  1. Click Search and select an Contacts file exported from the web e-mail and click Next.

  1. Select Contacts and click Next.

  1. Click User defined field mapping. The User defined field mapping popup window is displayed.

  1. Check if the fields retrieved from the User defined field mapping window are correctly mapped. The Contacts items exported by DaouOffice are automatically read by Microsoft Outlook. If the mapping is incorrect, move the fields with drag & drop.

  1. Click OK when the fields are specified.

  2. Click Finish.

Importing Contacts into Outlook Express

Export the contacts from DaouOffice with the file type set to Outlook Express.

Refer to Exporting Contacts in Outlook Express Format for details of export.

  1. Specify the File type to Outlook Express and export the contacts from the DaouOffice Contacts.

  2. Run Microsoft Outlook Express.

  3. Click the [File >Import/Export] menu.

  4. Select Text File as the exported file format in the Contacts import tool and click Import.

  1. Click Browse to select the file exported by DaouOffice and click Next.

  1. Click the fields to import.

  1. Click OK when the fields are specified.
