D.1Overview

The email used in Daou Office is a webmail that can be used both inside and outside the company. Daou Office email is provided in the IMAP standard email client format.

Username and Password for Email Account Addition in Outlook

  1. Name

    1. Use the ID of email account used in Daou Office.

  2. Password

    1. Used the password used in Daou Office.

    2. When changing your password in Daou Office, you must set the same password for Outlook.

What is IMAP?

IMAP(Internet Message Access Protocol) is a standard for receiving an email in the mail server through a network. It provides more diverse and powerful functions than POP3.

The manual has been prepared using Microsoft Outlook 2010 Software. Settings screens can vary by Outlook version. However, the setting methods are very similar.

Add Account

  1. User name refers to the name of the user when sending or receiving emails in Microsoft Outlook

  2. In email address input field, enter email address, which is a domain name, and account ID used in Daou Office.

  3. Enter password for Daou Office account twice.

Internet email setting items are user information (user name, email address), server information (account type, incoming mail server, outgoing mail server) and logon information (username, password).

  1. User name entered in add new account window is automatically entered.

  2. Email address entered in add new account window is automatically entered.

  3. Daou Office only supports IMAP. Therefore, the account type must be set as IMAP.

  4. Enter mail.daouoffice.com in incoming email server input window.

  5. Enter smtp.daouoffice.com in outgoing email server input window.

  6. Enter account ID used in Daou Office.

  7. Enter account password used in Daou Office.

Error can occur during account settings test if a typo is included. Make sure to prevent typos.

  1. Click outgoing email server tab.

  2. Check [Outgoing Email Server (SMTP) Authentication Necessary].

  3. Check [Logon Information] and enter user name and password.

  4. Click [OK].

For user name, enter account ID used in Daou Office. As for the password, enter account password for Daou Office.

Enter all items for Internet email settings and click [Next] to proceed with account settings test to check if the Internet email settings have been accurately entered.

When an account settings test is finished, click [Finish] to complete the account addition.

After adding an account, click [Send/Receive All Folders] in send/ receive tab. Proceed with Outlook send/ receive to check if emails are loaded from the Webmail account.

Send an email by clicking [New Email] in home tab.

Check if an email sent from Outlook has been successfully received in Webmail. This screen shows that an email sent from Outlook has been successfully received in Webmail.

Synchronize Personal Mailbox and Outlook Mailbox

When IMAP is set, only the incoming mailbox is synchronized by default. However, by selecting and registering an IMAP folder, you can synchronize your personal email inbox to Outlook.

Click [IMAP Folder] in folder tab.

  1. Click [Query] in IMAP folder window and search the registered folders.

  2. Select a personal mailbox to register.

  3. Click [Register]. Click [Register] to display a folder icon to the left of the name of a personal mailbox selected. You can check a list of synchronized mailboxes in register tab.

  4. Click [OK] when registration is complete.

This screen shows that [Mailbox for Client] has been registered in IMAP folder settings and the mailbox has been synchronized to Outlook.
