Summary of configuration
1Chat List - Click a chat from the list to activate a chat window on the right. Double-click a chat to open a multi-chat window as a popup. When you run a search on the chat room members or chat room names in the search window at the top, a list of the chat rooms that meet the search conditions are displayed.
2Activate/Deactivate Notification - You can individually set the notification function for each chat room.
3View More Information - Information on chat search results, chat room members, photo files, and attached files is displayed in the form of a side bar on the right.
4Search Chat - Search chats in activated chat rooms.
5Generate Chat Room - Click this button to generate a new chat room.
6Send Emoji/Attached File/Captured Image - You can send emojis/attached files/captured images other than texts using the input window.
7Chat Room Member - This function is used to check the list of the members of an activated chat room and to invite other users to the chat room. The “ο” mark next to a user indicates if the user is online/offline.
8Photo File - A list of photo files exchanged in a chat room is displayed. If there is a large number of photos, use the View More Photos function to display all photos exchanged in the chat room.
9Attached File - A list of attached files exchanged in a chat room is displayed. If there is a large number of attached files, use the View More Attached Files function to display all files exchanged in the chat room.
10Today View - Information on emails that have not been read or the recently registered posts is displayed.
11Notice - An authorized user can send a notice without the reply function by designating specific users.
12Organization Chart - A function to view an organization chart is available. When an organization member is double-clicked, a chat window is opened.
13Shortcut - A shortcut function to each app in the portal is provided.
14Notification - Notification is provided within the portal. Click a notification to view the details.
?Settings - My Profile, Configuration, Today Settings, Version Info., Lock Messenger, Logout, and Close functions are provided.
If you have been using another messenger program, make sure to delete it before installing PC Messenger.
25.1PC Messenger screen configuration
This is the PC Messenger login page.

1Language Settings - Korean, English, Chinese (simplified, traditional), Vietnamese, and Japanese languages are supported. When the settings are changed, the language of PC Messenger is immediately changed.
2Configuration - Enter the address of DaouOffice portal in use.
If you change the language settings, only the messenger client language is changed. To change the language for positions in the organization chart, use the Portal Home > Configuration> Language Settings menu.
You can change to a language only when the language has been previously set by the admin.
When you log in to PC Messenger, the following screen is opened.

1Profile - Your profile photo is displayed. You can search chat rooms in the search window on the right.
2A list of chat rooms you have signed up to is displayed.
3Today, Chat, Notification Talk, Organization Chart, Menu, Notification, and Settings buttons are available.

5This is the field where a selected chat room is displayed.
6Today - Information on emails that have not been read or the recently registered posts is displayed.
25.2Chatting
The most basic function of PC Messenger is chatting. When you log in to the program and then click Close, the program is moved to the system tray. So, you can open it for chatting whenever necessary.
When PC Messenger is started, a list of chat rooms for which you are a member is displayed. To start a new chat, click Organization Chart button or
button to select another user for chatting

Sending file
You can send and receive files when necessary while chatting with other users. Click button under the chat window to open a search window. Select a file to send from My Computer. There is no limit to the capacity of files for transmission.

Sending captured image
If you want to send a captured image while chatting with other users, use this function to capture and send an image directly from the chat window without having to use an Edit Tool.

Click to start Capture Tool, one of basic programs of MS Windows. Capture an image using Capture Tool and send it.
The default Capture Tool is available only in MS Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 10.
If the captured image is not copied, check [Tools > Options > Always copy captured content to clipboard] in Capture Tool.
Inviting other users to chat room
You can create a new group chat by inviting other users. Click Invite to Chat Room in Additional Info. to display an organization chart. Select users to invite and click OK. A group chat can have up to 30 members including yourself.

Sending emojis
You can send emoijs to other users while chatting with them. Click button in the chat room and select an emoji. Then, click
button to send the emoji.

Viewing images
You can view a list of images exchanged in the chat room. You can Save the images in View Images window.

The method to download images is as follows.
Click Photo File in Additional Info.
Click View More Photos.
Select an image to download.
Click Save.
The minimum size is the same as that for the image viewer. You can adjust the size by using the viewer.
Viewing all attachments
You can view a list of all attachments exchanged in the chat room.
You can Download attachments in the View Attachments window and also check the downloaded files by opening the folder.

The method to download attachments is as follows.
Click Save or Save As.
When download is completed, Open/Open Folder button is displayed.
Click Open/Open Folder to open the folder and check the downloaded file.
Files can be identified using icon images by extension.
A list of 40 files is displayed at first. Using Prev. ▲ button, 40 additional files can be viewed.
The file content cannot be checked in site admin. However, files exchanged in a chat room can be deleted by admin. In this case, file content cannot be checked in View Images/View Attachments windows as well as the chat room. The deleted files are displayed through a thumbnail.
Search
Messages exchanged in a chat room can be searched.

The method to search messages is as follows.
Click Search Chat in Additional Info.
Enter a keyword.
When a list of search results is displayed, double-click one result to open the chat.
Note that the search function can only be used on messages that have been exchanged at least one day ago in order to ensure quick search.
Setting name of group chat room
You can set the name of a group chat room. The chat room name is set as the name of the member(s) by default. When you set a new name for the chat room, the new name is displayed instead of the default name and the number of participating members is displayed on the right.

Right-click on a chat room from the list of chat rooms to open a popup window showing information about the chat room.
Enter a chat room name of up to 50 characters.
Searching chat room
You can search a chat room by using the name of the chat room or name of a chat room member.

Saving chat
The messages in a chat room can be saved in a .txt file.

1Save Chat - Right-click on a chat room to save from the list of chat rooms and select Save Chat.
2Confirmation Popup - Click OK to save the chat.
Only the chat currently displayed in the screen is saved. To back up previous chats, load the chats by scrolling up the chat room.
Images and attachments are not saved. Only text is saved.
Forced Exit
Use this function to eject a specific user from your chat room. This function is used to eject a specific user from a chat room because the user’s account has been suspended or due to other reasons.

To eject a user, right-click the mouse on the list of users in Additional Info. and click the [Exit] button.
Group chat
PC Messenger also provides the group chat function. For a multi-party chat, up to 30 members including yourself can participate in the chat. The method of multi-party chat is as follows.
Inviting colleague during 1:1 chat
First, find a user you want to chat with and open the chat window. If you want to invite a colleague during a chat, click Invite to Chat Room in Additional Info.. Select a colleague to invite and click OK.

Click button at the bottom left of PC Messenger to display an organization chart. Click a colleague from the organization chart and add the colleague to the chat room members. The chat room members are displayed at the top of the organization chart. You can add up to 29 members.

To delete a chat room member, you have added, place the mouse over the member’s profile photo. When the cursor changes to “X,” click the mouse to delete the member.
Chatting with the members of a specific department
Click button at the bottom left of PC Messenger to display an organization chart. Select Department Name in the organization chart and click OK. Then, you can chat with all members of the department.

Is displayed if the department you have selected has a sub-department. To include the sub-department members in the chat room, check
and click OK.
25.3Forced Exit
Use this function to eject a specific user from your chat room. This function is used to eject a specific user from a chat room because the user’s account has been suspended or due to other reasons.

To eject a user, right-click the mouse on the list of users in Additional Info. and click the [Exit] button.
25.4Sending Notification Talk
You can send a group message to all or some employees who use PC Messenger. Using Notification Talk, you can spread notifications swiftly. Notification Talk button () is exposed only to the users who have the authority to send notifications.
Notification Talk can be sent by the admin. only to the members designated by Site Admin. > General > Function Management > Notification Talk settings.
Open Notification Talk and select a specific user by clicking [+Add User]. Click [OK], enter information to send, and click [Send]. When the confirmation message is displayed, click [Yes].
In the message out-box, the “transmission dates, content, targets, and transmission results” of the recently sent messages are recorded.
Read Notification Talk
When Notification Talk is sent to you, you will receive a message like a general chat. But, you cannot reply to the message.
25.5Searching colleague
If it is difficult to find a college for chatting from the organization chart, you can run a search by entering a search word. Enter a search word in the search window at the top of PC Messenger and the search results are displayed immediately. A search word must be comprised of at least one letter.

Double-click the name of a colleague searched to open a 1:1 chat window.
Select and right-click on a colleague to check the colleague’s profile.
To return to the organization chart, click “X” located next to the search word.
25.6Viewing colleague’s profile
You can check your colleague’s profile in the organization chart. The profile shows the colleague’s name, department, email address, company, team (division), rank, position, mobile phone number, and office phone number.
To check a colleague’s profile, select a colleague from the organization chart and right-click on the colleague’s name.

- 'Before connection' is displayed.
- 'Connecting' is displayed.
If a colleague’s mobile phone number or office phone number is not recorded, it is also not displayed in the profile.
25.7Bookmarking
Bookmark is a function to make the list of “Favorite” colleagues you talk with or need to contact frequently. When you bookmark a colleague, the colleague is displayed at the top of the organization chart

The Favorite list is also displayed in Employee Info. of the mobile app. However, the Favorite list is displayed only when you have set to view the employee information in a list format.

Adding to Favorite
Click the Favorite icon ()in the profile of a user to bookmark the user. There is no limit to the number of users you can bookmark.
Removing from Favorite
Click Favorite icon () again to remove the user from Favorite.
25.8Setting PC Messenger
Configure the PC Messenger environment. Click in GNB of PC Messenger and Configuration.

Configuring login settings
Auto Login - You are automatically logged in when PC Messenger is started.
Save Password - The password you entered when logging in to PC Messenger is saved. Once the password is saved, you don’t need to enter the password again for subsequent logins.
Auto Start when PC is Booted - PC Messenger is automatically started each time you turn on the PC.
Download folder
This folder is used to save files received during a chat. Click Select Folder to change the download folder.

Use Popups for Notifications - Use this function to set whether or not to display notifications when received. If Use Popups for Notifications is not checked, notifications are not displayed at the bottom right of your computer screen. However, the chat screen is displayed even if you have set to not use the popup.
Use Sound Alarm for Notifications – Use this function to set whether or not to use sound alarm when a notification is received.

Synchronize Employee Info. - When the organization chart is changed, it is not reflected in PC Messenger in real-time. To apply the changed organization chart immediately, click Synchronize.
Set Employee Info. Exposure Value - Using On/Off buttons, you can set to expose an employee’s [Position, Rank, Office Phone Number, Mobile Phone Number] in addition to name.

Today Configuration
Auto Refresh - You can select whether or not to use the Auto Refresh function and time for using the function.
Change Screen Order - Using drag & drop, you can set the order of Today menus displayed in the first screen of PC Messenger.
Detailed Mail Setting - You can configure the settings for emails to be displayed in the Today screen according to the mailbox, period and read/not read status.
The orders of Today menus in PC Messenger and mobile app are set separately, not synchronized.

25.9Functions of PC Messenger task bar
Place the mouse on the PC Messenger icon at the bottom right of your computer screen and right-click the mouse. You can configure the PC Messenger environment settings or check the version information. You can also log out from or close the messenger.

Open – PC Messenger program is maximized.
Configuration - You can configure the PC Messenger program environment. You can set to use Auto Login and Save Password functions, receive notifications, and expose employee information, or designate a folder for saving files received during a chat.
Version Info. – You can check the version of PC Messenger.
Lock Messenger - You can lock PC Messenger if leaving your desk for a long time or while attending a meeting. When the messenger is in lock mode, messages or notifications are not displayed on the screen. To unlock the messenger, you need to enter your password again. When the messenger is unlocked, messages and notifications received while the messenger was locked are displayed at once.
End - PC Messenger program is ended.
This function is available only in Windows OS environment.
